NUMISMATICS DEPARTMENT

We keeps about 22,000 objects and other supplementary materials.
We acquire and preserve coins in the archeological excavations in Augusta Trayana – Vereya – Boruy, Karasura, Chatalka and other sites in the province Stara Zagora, as well as many donations.
We also possess coins from the 4^th century B.C. to the modern age.
In Particular, Hellenic (Thracian and Macedonian) coins, Roman coins, Byzantium coins, Turkish and Bulgarian coins are quite significant.
We have rich collections with coins of Augusta Trayana and Byzantium seals.
