collect and study the historical proof of the province Stara Zagora
during 15th
– 19th
century. The department keeps the items related to the economic and the political status of the Bulgarian nation in the Ottoman Empire, as well as Turkish cultural materials. There are photos, documents and objects about the Russo-Turkish War near Stara Zagora (July 31st, 1877). Among them the collections of rifles, revolver guns, cannonballs and swords which may interest you. Our valuable possessions: - Copy of “The history of Slav-Bulgarian” Paisieva(1837) - Copy of the calendar of Tsvyatko Panagyuretsa (1818) - Kiriakodromion of Sophrony Vrachanski – the first printed book in modern Bulgarian - The flag of the insurgents in Stara Zagora in 1875 |
